Previous experience

Prior to working at Credible, Maddie was a contributing writer for the career guide website Zippia, where she wrote and edited articles providing job-seeking advice and interviewing tips for readers in the career-hunting process. She has also worked for the literary agency Howland Literary and the magazine The Vincent Brothers Review as a manuscript reader and copy editor. Maddie entered the world of personal finance when she joined the team at Credible, and believes that being well-informed empowers people to be confident when making financial decisions.

When Maddie is not reading or writing, she can be found crafting with her cat, Sushi, by her side.

Education

Maddie earned her Bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University and her Master’s degree from North Carolina State University, each in English with a concentration in Film and Media Studies. During her studies, Maddie discovered that television is a legitimate art form and that watching TV is an act of research. She wrote her Master’s thesis on The Sopranos, and enjoys dissecting every text she comes across.
