On behalf of the Credible team, I am thrilled to have announced another milestone for our company, closing $10 million in Series A funding.
Credible was founded on the premise that borrowers deserve transparency when making major financial decisions. We’ve created a fiercely independent platform committed to providing borrowers fair and unbiased solutions when choosing a student loan, and when refinancing their student loans.
The $10 million in funding we’ve received has come from some of the most experienced individuals in online lending, including Soul Htite, Founder & CEO of Dianrong.com and Co-founder of Lending Club, Ron Suber, President of Prosper, and online lending pioneer Scott Langmack. This further validates our approach to building a product that is fair for both borrowers and lenders, and markedly improves the loan selection process.
Borrowers are our number one priority. Our focus from day one has been to create a consumer-centric platform that empowers borrowers to make informed financial decisions. This funding will enable us to broaden and deepen this mission.
One way we continue to be particularly effective in spreading the message to consumers about the savings available on Credible is through our Partnership Program. This program is focused on making Credible more widely known to professional organizations, alumni associations, employers and other groups. We have partnered with some of the most prestigious organizations in the country – including the American Medical Association, American Pharmacists Association and Georgia Tech Alumni Association. We continue to invest in these partnerships by expanding the availability of our program to more organizations, and continuously improving the way we deliver tools and educational materials to members and employees of these groups.
When borrowers come to Credible, they know they can receive offers from thoroughly vetted lenders. When it comes to lenders, we will be deepening our integrations to provide a smoother process for our borrowers. We will also be helping lenders create products that better serve our borrower demand.
Credible started out in the student loan space, often seen as one the most confusing and frustrating markets for borrowers – we started here because of the clear need to provide borrowers with a better solution. As we move forward, we’re going to keep listening to what consumers want and use this feedback to determine ways in which our unique marketplace approach can further enable consumers to take control of their financial futures.
We care about each and every Credible user. We thrive on feedback and want to use it to develop an even better user experience. We’ll be continuing to build out our US-based customer care team to help borrowers through any issue they may face, and also to receive and iterate upon their candid feedback. We strive to earn customers for life – we take this very seriously, so our customers should expect a consistently high level of support when they come to Credible.
Since we launched in 2012, we’ve grown significantly across many parts of our business – from the number of borrowers we are helping, to the strength of our partnership network, to the quality of our lenders – we’ve accomplished a lot in a short period of time. Today, our team is comprised of 33 dedicated and ambitious professionals – I am incredibly proud of all of their contributions.
