Patrick is a personal finance writer with a focus on real estate and real estate investing. After doing a cash-out refinance on his first house (which was bought as a foreclosure from a local bank), he was able to lower his monthly mortgage payments, pay off graduate school, and buy a new roof. Afterwards, he was hooked on real estate.
His work has appeared on Jacky Beck's The Debt Myth and Rockstar Finance, but he also runs his own real estate website called Hipster Real Estate. Before freelancing, he worked as an EMT and AP English teacher.
When Patrick is not working, he enjoys playing board games, cooking traditional Japanese meals, and writing music and short stories.
Education
Patrick earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Virginia and a graduate degree in Education from the University of Richmond.
